Singer-songwriter

Kitty’s songs are often a little frisky and playful. She likes to add a funny twist in the music or lyrics. But she is also not afraid to add a deeper layer in a song and address more dark problems or emotions. This is however always done with a positive and optimistic overview.

She writes pop music, with a little bit of blues en soul. You can also define her style as a mix of Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Fiona Apple and Gavin DeGraw.

For many years Kitty has been very active in music. About 15 years ago Kitty started to write her own songs. After a couple of years of writing for her band Back-Seat Driver, where she also was the lead singer, she now wants to feel more connected to her music by playing and singing herself, and create the music in a smaller band-setting.

Other influences are: Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamie Lidell, James Morrisson, KT Tunstall, Ella Fitzgerald, Esperanza Spalding, Alanis Morissette, Lenny Kravitz, Sia, Donny Hathaway, Mavis Staples.
